Tom and Margaret

Tom has a twenty-four hour of liberty from his ship that is anchored at San Diego. While attending a USO sponsored dance, he meets Margaret, a pretty, red-headed girl who lives with her family in a nearby suburb. Her parents, died-in-the-wool cyclists, so to speak, have loaned the couple the use of their Burley tandem bicycle. Margaret has suggested pedaling to the beach, but Tom says he’s seen enough water, and suggests a city park, instead. Margaret doesn’t object.

At this very moment, they are bent on making the most of the limited time they have together.
