In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Dictionary, Shmictionary.”
A decade or two ago I sent a ham-radio related poem to late Wayne Green, publisher of “73 Magazine”, a radio journal. Wayne used my SASE and enclosed a rejection poem that was far superior to the one he got from me. The jest of his poem was that it didn’t scan.
Jumping the gun, I called the number on his letterhead stationery and asked Wayne what I needed to do to make it scan.
“You don’t know the definition of scan do you? Look it up and call me back.” And then he hung up.
I looked up the word, but I never called him back.

How come I can’t like this? Boo to him!
