My journaling began with a pencil. There are times when I’ve used a typewriter, a computer, and like today, an iPad. Brainstorming often requires a pencil, a yellow one, no less.
Some thirty years ago a pencil article appeared in a Pacific Northwest publication – The Blue Heron, as I recall. The author pointed out the positive aspects of using a yellow pencil verse a ballpoint, and he suggested forming a Yellow Pencil Society.
I was pumped. I even researched this individual’s identity so I could put my shoulder to the wheel. Eventually, however, I learned that his uncle was a shareholder in a pencil factory.
Alone, with no outside help from said author, I’ve formed my own Yellow Pencil Society. An official membership of one.
