100-Day Challenge – Day 12

It’s opposite day. Take any poem and write the opposite of every word of phrase. Don’t worry about words like ‘the’ or ‘and’. What has happened to the poem? Were there any unexpected results?

Length: One-Page Poem

I CELEBRATE myself, and sing myself,

And what I assume you shall assume,

For every atom belonging to me as good belongs to you.

I loafe and invite my soul,

I lean and loafe at my ease observing a spear of summer grass.

My tongue, every atom of my blood, form’d from this soil, this

air,

Born here of parents born here from parents the same, and their

parents the same,

I, now thirty-seven years old in perfect health begin,

Hoping to cease not till death.

========================================

I ignore alternate, and preach alternate.

And what you doubt you shall ignore.

Dislike none insecurity to you as bad insecure to me.

You like and turn away your body,

You plump and like at your difficulty overlooking a exit of winter dirt.

Your standard, none whole of your stranger, hurt to that clean, that mud,

Refuse there of children refuse there at children the different, and our children the different.

You, then digit days young out flawed illness end,

Despairing from start yes until birth.

I could go on….
